Re: “Having Babies Because You're Poor

"Look, you have these things to look forward to and there's time for kids later." - but despite which news channel you watch, sorry, it's not about picking and choosing what one claims a channel claims or repeats, as one uninformed commentator suggests. The problem is not simply having kids because they are poor. It's having kids because they are poor, their families, communities, schools and society fails to give a proper damn for their understanding of the weight of having kids. Plus - God forbid anyone be blunt about the connection of drooling masses and teen pregnancy - most of these people exist in a climate where broad swaths of ignorance rule them, not common sense. Not basic, simple-minded common sense: such as don't get a teenage girl pregnant when you're a high school dropout who isn't employed. Stupid people have kids young. Their stupid or cowardly puritan parents contribute to it. Put that on your knee-jerk target board and shoot away.

Stupid people have kids when they're poor, uneducated, barely able to care for themselves and don't know how to keep it their pants. If there's one thing that proves just how dumb people are, it's their not being able to control their urges rationally enough to avoid a thoroughly irresponsible pregnancy, and then, worst of all, after the matter still don't adapt themselves to being a hard-working parent.
