Re: “Another Nashville Concern: DJs Who Play Too Loud

Something y'all have missed out is the difference between loud and noisy. A 1Kw system played at max volume is worse than a 2kw system played at half volume. What you're complaining about is music too loud for the speakers. Also too loud to 'sound good'. Another thing is EQ and position of speakers. If the speakers are spread, you can pkay quieter. Another thing, is if you are somewhere and the music is at moderate volume and nice, music that you despise, played at the same volume, is 'too loud'. Check this scenario: there is DJ 'a', who plays on Friday. DJ 'b' plays on Saturday. DJ a played with CD's. DJ b used vinyl. DJ a had more people dancing. DJ b had a larger crowd. Etc...Q: who was the best DJ? The answer is simple. How much money did the door/bar make? How much trouble/vandalism was there? So, if as a DJ, u have a following of people who spend a lot, you are a 'better investment' than a DJ with skills, selection, etc. a lot of people actually can't appreciate a good DJ and will tolerate distorted train wreck cheese. Many are just drunk punters up for getting drunk and going 'up for a dance'.
