Re: “Wow, A Lot of Tennessee Republicans Are Pro-Choice!

IN RESPONSE TO THIS FROM AnglRdr: "Well OF COURSE abortion is fine for them, just not you sluts! DUH!

Also, the only "pro life" position is one which looks exactly like the Republican one: legislation that puts as many hurdles, obstacles and shame as possible in front of anyone needing an abortion. You simply can't be "pro life" while putting forth policies that increase access to birth control, affordable child care and healthcare, good paying jobs, etc. so that every pregnancy is a wanted one, and economic stresses forcing women to choose abortion in the first place are not a factor.

Nope that's just hippie lefty socialist talk."

Well, I am a hippie for life, feminist for life, who believes in people before profit, which includes tiny humans, increased access to birth control, affordable child care and healthcare, equal pay and good work for all, environmental health, every pregnancy is a sacred human, and I am for relieving economic stresses and social stigmas forcing women to "choose" abortion. I never understood why my fellow peace lovers fell on the pro choice side of abortion, I have felt betrayed since 1973 (Roe v Wade)... But now that it's happening, it's legal, and 60+ million tiny humans have died in this country and 120+ million parents have suffered the regrets and pain since '73, I see the only way out is raising consciousness so folks will no longer choose abortion, certainly not jail and criminalization. And who talks about this? Seems to me to be a great bipartisan dialogue.

But truly, what loving mother, when even faced with choosing between her own death or her (out of the womb) child's death, would choose for her child to die? Abortion, by its very nature, IS HYPOCRISY!
