As an Opera staff member of 17 years, this is hardly an impartial post! But among all the productions we have staged, Difficulty of Crossing a Field stands out as one of the most exciting to me--musically, thematically, artistically. My heart is pierced!

John Hoomes' staging was incredibly thoughtful, full of human emotion, and the artists and ensemble brought it to life with heartfelt, powerful performances. I have loved every stimulating minute of this experience and am thrilled by the audience's fervent response.

Thank you, Nashville Scene, for an article that deepened this insider's appreciation of Field and helped spread the word about what gorgeous art the Opera is making in Music City!
