Re: “Folk songstress Kathy Mattea returns with a new record and a nostalgic approach to her roots”
I picked up a copy at her show at the Bluebird Cafe last night. I've been a fan of Kathy's for a long time now (more than 2 decades), and this is far and away her best work. That's no mean feat considering her body of work. I'm from Kentucky with lots of ties to coal mining in my family, and this CD, really speaks to our connection to the land.
