Re: “The Southern: Off the Rails?”
I am sorry you had a bad experience, because my previous three trips to The Southern only had me thinking, 'when can I get more?!' Each time I felt the service was commendable and the food was extraordinary! I dont know much about the restaurant business but I really like the trajectory of the Southern approach. As you poignantly noted, the "nifty" stylings of the Southern, are far more than an afterthought. I adore the detailed approach they take, it all feels very bucolic, concentrated and genuine; and thank god for its names sake! The Southern will be a great ambassador, for not just Nashville, but the entire South, to folks from all around the world who are lookin for some down home cookin.
As I said, I know very little about the restaurant business, but ive always heard that it is an incredibly difficult business in which to prosper. No doubt, there will be bumps in the road; but knowing the foundation of The Southern, they will collectively persevere!
Ps- forgive me for piling on- but you sound like an ass!
