Re: “A proposed asphalt plant has Mill Creek neighbors steaming

We live in a little village on a river in Ontario, Canada where the "BIG BOYS" would like to re-zone some farm land. The township is considering a zoning amendment to change the current zoning from rural to mineral aggregate resource, which would pave the way for the asphalt plant. We are fighting tooth and nail. They will answer our questions Sept 10th at their next council meeting. It's been going on under our noses. It's been in the making for over a year, we just heard of it 2 months ago. We need a lawyer also, but most are simple country loving folks that cannot afford a lawyer, so we are trying our best to research everything we can and fight. It's all about the farm land sitting on many many acres of gravel... where there's gravel, there's a quarry which equals asphalt manufacturing. Thank you for this article.
