Re: “Haslam Talks Minimum Wage, Organized Labor, and Medicaid on PBS

This is what the Congressional Budget Office said about the minimum wage: http://www.cbo.gov/publication/44995?utm_s… "Real income would increase, on net, by $5 billion for families whose income will be below the poverty threshold under current law, boosting their average family income by about 3 percent and moving about 900,000 people, on net, above the poverty threshold (out of the roughly 45 million people who are projected to be below that threshold under current law)."

Re: “#Lamarwatch: Alexander Mangles Truth in Latest Anti-Obamacare Presser

Between 1980 and 1982 I worked for a non-profit. While I was there it began to provide health care coverage. Coverage for a male in his 20s was about $25 per month. Up until recently, health care costs rose by up to 10 percent per year. Do the math and tell me that after 30 years of health cost increases, the monthly premiums would be that low?

Re: “#Lamarwatch: Joe Carr Caught Cutting and Pasting From Heritage

Joe Biden made a speech that he had made many times. Earlier he had created to source of what he said. One time he didn't. He quit his campaign.

Re: “Dear City Paper, Take This Job and Shove It

1st Amendment: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

While it says a lot about what the government can do, it doesn't say anything about preventing an employer from stopping employees from making inappropriate comments on behalf of it.

Re: “With Last Week's Gun Vote, Bob Corker and Lamar Alexander Prove They Are the NRA's Bitches

I have one question: Why, after killing federal funding on gun safety, use because it was "biased" didn't the NRA fund research that was unbiased? Yeah, there's that one guy, John Lott, whose research has been questioned by others.

Re: “Islamophobic Lawmakers Demand to Know Purpose of Mop Sink

NO, THE GOVERNMENT IS NOT ALLOWED TO TELL YOU WHEN OR WHAT TO PRAY!

Why would you want it to?

Is your idea of prayer like the Pharisees in Christ's story about the people who stand in the street and pray long prayers. Plenty of closets to pray in at the Capitol
