Re: “A pro-Murfreesboro Mosque filmmaker does a radical about-face

Posted by Kristen Chapman Gibbons "Eric is a shuckster of the highest order and his shift has more to do with a persistent need for media attention that anything that resembles critical thinking."

Don't you see it as a little hypocritical and revealing that you talk about Eric's supposed lack of critical thinking,, yet all you offer is an Ad Hominem instead of an exposition of your critical thinking skills applied to the topic. Instead of attacking to content of Eric character, how about you attack and refute the content of what he is saying.

Re: “A pro-Murfreesboro Mosque filmmaker does a radical about-face

This video series is probably better than all the other teaching series on Islam I have seen. Dr. Mark Durie, author of the excellent book on Dhimmitude "The Third Choice", goes into deep detail about Islam and Dhimmitude, even the Dhimmi Ritual that used to be performed by Dhimmis under the Islamic Caliphate. This series is excellent to show to non-Muslims who are not aware of the dangers of Islam because it kinda creeps into the more unpleasant stuff after Durie gives his background and captures your attention. And the last several videos in this playlist are of a really good question and answer session.

I did and I missed the part where Christendom arose with the sword,, perhaps you can enlighten us by listing the battles that where fought to establish Christianity.

Re: “A pro-Murfreesboro Mosque filmmaker does a radical about-face

Posted by AnglRdr "Since Jesus didn't have anything to do with how Christendom became so, your quote is irrelevant. Also, Pascal was a philosopher, not an historian.

I think you might actually be in earnest, which is frightening."

"Jesus didn't have anything to do with how Christendom became so",,, how you bend your mind to evade the truth of the issue is mind boggling. Jesus had everything to with how Christianity became Christendom and Mohammad have everything to do with the rise of Islam, even after their deaths.

I am speaking in earnest. Why should it frighten you that I speak in earnest? It concerns me that your being flippant instead of earnest.

Perhaps we could do it this way,, how about you list all the battles and wars that Christians waged to bring about Christendom and I'll list all the wars and Battles Muslims fought to bring about the rise of Islam.

Do you even have a clue that within 10 years of Muhammad's death Islam had conquered half the known world and 2/3's of it within 100 years? You just don't know how close the world came to where atheist like would have no place at all to air your grievances against theism without losing your head.

Hi AnglRdr, The video/audio I posted on the rise of Islam is by a guy named William Federer. Because Bill gives such a good historical account of Islam in this video/audio, last night I looked for more material from Bill and found the following 15 minutes of video. I thought it might save some time for you or anyone else wanting to learn some details of the history if Islam.

Re: “A pro-Murfreesboro Mosque filmmaker does a radical about-face

AnglRdr, If you did not see the problems with Islam a Christian verses Muslim thing,, you could see clearly that many that are against Islam are not even Christians or Jews and we who speak about Islam do so for two reasons. 1. Islam= human rights nightmare and 2. Islam=Totalitarian political/religious ideology bent on world domination.

It's by far not just a Christian thing. In fact about half of the prominent counter-jihadist are ex-Muslim and/or atheist. Most well known atheist such as Sam Harris, Christopher Kitchens and Richard Dawkins have all stated that Islam is a major problem on both of these areas.

Re: “A pro-Murfreesboro Mosque filmmaker does a radical about-face

Posted by AnglRdr "I know the answer, actually: they became so the same way Christian nations became so: through war and/or political dealings. This isn't a mystery. I'm not sure why you're treating it as such.

Islam is no more extreme than any other Abrahamic religion. The roots themselves are rotten; is it any wonder the fruit is also?"

-------------------------

Blaise Pascal said: "Mahomet established a religion by putting his enemies to death; Jesus Christ by commanding his followers to lay down their lives."

Is Pascal right? As you freely admit, Islam gained it's territories through war and politics, although I suspect you don't really know much about the rise of Islam and are just operating on preconceived biased notions about all religions.

Pascal is exactly right because Christianity "conquered" the Roman Empire through preaching and proclaiming the message of Christ. Rather than wielders of the sword, early Christians where the target of Romans swords and where slaughtered for hundreds of years until Roman Emperor Constantine converted to Christianity and married Christianity to the state of Rome. The Christian world arose from the blood of the Christian martyrs and the message of Christ. The Islamic world arose strictly by the sword of Islam.

Do you know much about the history of Islam? A Good place to start would be with the life of Muhammad, do you know much about that?

Hear is the first Islamic biography of Muhammad,, if your interested.
