Re: “96-year-old Woman Who Voted During Jim Crow Is Denied Photo ID

I can't believe all of the nonsense that I have read in this thread. What happened in 2000 is history and whether Bush or Gore won is irrelevant. There are almost no voter fraud incidents in this country but to hear the people on here and the GOP in general talk, 100's are doing it at every election.

This dear lady may not have a marriage license because of it being lost after so many years or from a fire or any of a dozen reasons. Tennessee politicians and others need to get their heads out of their behinds and lighten up. PA didn't seem to have a problem giving the 93 yr old lady an ID after the matter was brought to the attention of someone with a brain.

Makes me sad and ashamed to live in Tennessee and in America. Stop the racism fools. The African Americans didn't ask to be brought here. I doubt they stood on the shore shouting at the slave captains "Take me with you". It was the greed and self interest that brought them here and it could even have been some of your ancestors that made it happen. Most have just as much intelligence as you or anyone else. Too bad that they all couldn't get the proper education.

This should indeed be a non issue since it is our right to vote and suppression is not the answer unless it's the only way for the GOP to win.

Re: “Haslam Declines to Engage County GOP Dissent

What has happened to this state ? I came home to a place that I love and find it run by Republicans who believe that we should have no individual thought or rights. I'm Liberal and proud of it and I find the leadership here now to be foul and bigoted. I want to know who died and made the GOP God ? The God that I was raised with loved all and wanted what was best for his children and gave them free will to make their own decisions. I feel like a slave to the GOP and I'm white. The Civil War ended over 147 yrs. ago. I pray that some individuals are elected that are at least progressive so that we can get some balance back in our local government.

Re: “Ramsey to Democrats: Make My Day

Good for you Min. That's part of the problem with this country. Too much outsourcing and too much greed by corporations. Too many conservatives and Tea Party idiots are cutting their noses off to spite their faces because they think they will be rewarded by a Republican vote. Low taxes for the wealthy have no more produced jobs than a cat can have a puppy.

What will produce jobs and in the long run more money for the corporations, small businesses and everyone else is to put money into people's pocket so that they can spend it. It's called supply and demand. If no one has jobs then no one has money and then no one can spend. Jobs will be created and small businesses will be able to hire if they have the demand for products and services.
