Re: “What Makes a Good Restaurant Experience?

I think it's much easier to define a bad restaurant experience than a good one. I live in Murfreesboro, and - while the restaurant scene has greatly improved in the eight years I've lived here - I feel like a lot of the restaurants around here are somehow still missing the mark. If the food is great, there's something off with the atmosphere. If the atmosphere is great, then the food is mediocre and/or the service is poor. Some places around here also seem to have serious problems with poor inventory management. If I've had to change my order at a restaurant on more than one occasion due to a stock outage, then you've got a problem. I get how it happens with specialty items and craft beers, but it's unacceptable to run out of what you need to serve your standard menu items.
