Re: “The Chick-fil-A Conundrum: How to Reconcile Tasty Chicken with Distasteful Politics

Somewhat like Terence, if I had a strict rule to only patronize businesses owned by people whose politics I completely agree with, my choices would be preeetty limited. (Especially around here...I love you, Tennessee, but really.)

Still, I'm a gay lady, and the knowledge that any support I give to Chick-fil-A would in turn support WinShape is enough to keep me away. It's harder with a place like Target (whose corporate support of anti–gay rights candidates is well-documented), since sometimes it's the most convenient/affordable place to find a lot of different things in Nashville. But yeah, I think I'll survive without some C-f-A chicken pieces and waffle fries in my life. The only times I've eaten there since the stuff about WinShape came out have been during, yep, road trips with family who want to eat there, and the gay issue is already touchy enough in my family that I don't bring it up.
