"You could be standing out there in a dress with bare legs."
Indeed I could, Donna, indeed I could.
Given a choice between waking up on Sunday morning to go listen to Journey and waking up on a Sunday morning to go have a root canal, I'd say it's a close call...
Final tally is 61-30. Cloture passes.
Alexander votes no.
Corker votes no.
Discrimination alive and well in Tennessee's Senate delegation.
Roll call now under way. Catch it live on C-SPAN2,
"has anyone heard the outcome?"
Right now (4:55 pm CT) they are beginning some brief debate, to be followed by a roll call vote on the "motion to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed" on ENDA. So the vote is imminent. (Basically today's vote is a motion to open debate on the measure.)
On the new restaurant front, Boca Loca in Hillsboro Village (the old Trace building; excuse the dated reference; I refuse to identify the structure by any of its subsequent disasters) soft-opened a week ago and looks quite promising. Pretty (seemingly) simple and very reasonable priced menu, but reliance on fresh ingredients and creative elements make this an elevated taco etc. option. Nice bar (as it once was there) with some excellent happy hour specials. And unlike the meatheads who ran the Brazilian thing in there most recently, Boca Loca is willing to open the damn garage doors and let the day in! Light and air and interesting food may finally have returned to that space, at long last.
