Re: “Adventures In Shopping: The Private Label

Excellent new series, Abby. And, I must say, Private Label rocks. The selection is astonishing—as is the number of items that are brand new with tags. Plus, the nail salon is incredible, too. The owner, Daisy, and the rest of her crew give incredible mani/pedis that last FOREVER. This is the best way to spend some fun girl time, EVER. In the history of womankind.

Re: “Brad Schmitt, the city’s once notorious celebrity columnist, re-enters the public eye — for all the right reasons

Brad- i will never forget you grilling people at the freedom forum, the harvard neiman fellows/fred thompson at some event we were hosting. you were one of the brightest, most tenacious writers/reporters in town.. i think the la times was trying to recruit you, and the tennessean offered you the brad about you column to keep you.
i just remember you at this freedom forum event. you had already become brad about you, and the tough brad schmitt reporter in you came out that night. i always think - the assholes in the music biz who were critical of you sometimes - if they'd had a quarter of your brain power, they would be ashamed about anything they ever said. anyway - i always loved your heart and your reporter instinct. what a powerful, raw story you wrote. thank you.
