I am a friend of Lesther's and I am so very happy for him...he's exactly the sort of young man this country needs more of...ambitious, kind, hard working and smart! This is a great move by Obama and I fully support it. Blessings to you and your family Lesther!

Re: “Tennessee Christian Right Finds New Way to Mess With Gay People”
"Go right ahead. Force those who disagree with same-sex orientation to counsel those people." - that's like saying there are people who 'disagree' with the color blue. It's an orientation.
Theirs is a belief system based on religion, which is completely a CHOICE...while religion may be useful in some ways to society, it's not always fact-based. Many times their texts are written in allegory or ancient political bias. If religious institutions want to create their own network of counseling - wonderful - but they should not be allowed to bring down the scientific counseling community that counsels those outside of that religious realm of people wishing to be shielded from a reality. It would appear that a truly curious, scientific mind would be interested in an orientation that differed from the norm...not shun it.
