Re: “A dispute goes public over an actor dismissed from a local production of Rent”
What the hell? What kind of director cancels rehearsal via text and has it behind your back, regardless of the reason. I've been involved in theatre and film for most of my entire life and have never heard of anything SO unprofessional. Sounds like all the excuses Nashville Dinner Theatre has given since news broke is just to cover their collective butts. Considering the owner and creative director, both have been in trouble with the law, have been off and on since one was underage, that's no big surprise. They seem to be lying about the little things so it begs the question, what Aren't they lying about.
When I moved to this town I was given a lot of advice from people whom I now call close friends. One was not to audition for or work with Kaine Riggan. Now I see why. Joyce DeWitt better high tail it out of town before her name gets stained.
Hope this Joann woman learned something from this. I hope she realizes how she potentially ruined someone's life being so misinformed and self-indulgent. Who knows, maybe she enjoys inflicting this kind of abuse. Sounds like a real diva if you ask me. Hope I never have the displeasure of working with her.
