Re: “Acorn Restaurant to Close in June, Reopen as a Sports Bar

When I think of the Acorn Restaurant I think of over priced, less than mediocre food in a cold atmosphere. The two times I dined there it was so quiet from the lack of guests that I could hear the chef's pans hitting the stove in the kitchen. The wait staff appeared to be pretty great and I am surprised they chose to waste their talents at a boring restaurant like the Acorn. A friend of mine went there last summer and sat on the patio. He said that they were so under staffed that he waited 20 minutes for bread. He didn't want to say anything because he felt that it wasn't the waitress's fault. And then when my friend got his bread it tasted like it had been sitting for hours. The Acorn will NOT be a restaurant that I am going to miss in this city. As far as a sports bar is concerned......... what an unoriginal idea!!!!!!!!!!
