Re: “What We Talk About When We Talk About Kony

The Jason "Radical" Russell (filmmaker) interview is all you need to read. "My middle name is Radical. I married my best friend. We have known each other since we were six and seven. I have a three-year-old boy named Gavin Danger & a one-year-old girl named Everley Darling... I am from San Diego California with an upbringing in musical theater. I am going to help end the longest running war in Africa, get Joseph Kony arrested & redefine international justice. Then I am going to direct a Hollywood musical...If Oprah, Steven Spielberg and Bono had a baby, I would be that baby."

Re: “They May Call It a Fast, But That Doesn't Mean It Goes By Quickly: The Juice Nashville

What I don't understand about juice fasts: why not just eat all of those ingredients (and nothing else)?? Why must it be juice??

Re: “Sugarland's Lawyers: Stage Collapse Victims' Injuries 'Their Own Fault'

The only thing the crowd was guilty of was wanting to see a favorite band--a band that five minutes earlier, had repeatedly announced would embark the stage soon. If the conditions were clearly so dangerous, why not tell the crowd to seek shelter immediately and cancel the show? The cowardice astounds me.

Re: “First Bite, Vegetarian Edition: Sloco

I disagree that the portions are too small..they seem like perfectly normal size sandwiches to me. Perhaps we're simply too accustomed to wolfing down 5lb Chipotle burritos? But this is also coming from someone who doesn't particularly enjoy feeling as if her 'gut is going to bust'.

Re: “Best of Nashville 2011: Culinary Heroes and ’Villians

Totally agreed with the 'ha ha' and 'hrm' notations. I definitely think that a one-ballot limit could solve a lot of the head scratching.. I'm still confused about Melting Pot's inclusion in these lists! And maybe I'm a little biased myself since I prefer Siam (by a hair) to Smiling E... :)

Re: “Best of Nashville 2011: Culinary Heroes and ’Villians

I agree that a one-vote limit should be imposed, perhaps by submitting a valid cell phone number with one's ballot. However, it's unfair to yell about categories you disagree with, but then say that "readers got it right" when your favorite restaurants end up in the top categories...don't you think that's a little backwards?
