Re: “How Does a Convicted DUI Killer Keep Getting Back Behind the Wheel?

I went all through school with Keri Scheib (since Kindergarten), who was one of 3 victims killed in Danny Lee Ross' 1993 drunken driving accident. I even passed the scene of the accident that night and knew from the looks of the pile of metal that was once a car that nobody in it could have survived.

The next day it was so quiet at McGavock, where we all went to school, that you could have heard a pin drop and believe me that never happened at McGavock. It's the only time I remember it being like that. I still remember it like it was yesterday. I still think about poor Keri every time I pass where the accident occurred. It gives me cold chills and each time I say a little prayer for them in Heaven and for their families.

I remember for years after the incident seeing items such as flowers and balloons placed at the crash site. Heard that Keri's parents moved out of the area. I can't say that I blame em, since passing that spot always gives me the chills and I can't even immagine how they must've felt still living so close.

This scumbag has apparantely been arrested for public intoxication again in the Donelson area recently too i(it was actually at the Sonic Drive-In which now sits right at the exact intersection where he murdered Keri and the Tidwells).

Since I still live in Donelson and have a mom and 16 year old niece who do as well, that worries me so much that he was even back in the area. How could one even return to the scene, where they murdered 3 innocent people, and not feel complete remorse and regret. He instead got drunk and out of control at the exact same spot where these people drew their last breaths because of his selfishness. Believe me this could not be a coincidence. This guy is evil and has no regrets and did that to be disrespectful toward those who's lives he knowingly ended. That was an act of disobedience and insult. I think he blames his victims and their loving families for his prison stint.

This waste of human life is a killer with a vehicle being his weapon of choice. The way he keeps repeating the same offense that murdered 3 innocents(and even cocky enough to attempt to at the same location), makes him a serial killer! He needs to be locked up for the rest of his natural life. He has made it clear he doesn't want help or to change.

I remember Keri's parents being very active in their daughters lives since grade school, in such activities as PTA, with my mom. After this happened I remember seeing her mom, who was a cross guard at a local elementary school, and this poor woman seemed to lose tons of weight (that she didn't need to lose) in a matter of weeks and when she spoke, seemed like it took everything she had to make the words.

This man's terrible choices have had a domino effect and messed up so many lives. I did not know Blake or his mother, but am sure this had the same effect on their loved ones.

If memory serves me correctly, he was being served alcohol underage at the Hermitage Pizza Hut the night this occurred and it was shut down for serving a minor and resulting in this horrific accident. Seems that everyone else was punished without mercy, except for the offender. And yet this loser keeps getting chance after chance that he doesn't deserve. No wonder he keeps repeating his vicious acts and playing the victim!! Let's start a petition and have this creep held responsible and a candidate of the three strike law!!! If not, he is going to kill more of our children.

I'm so sorry, Larry, Carolyn and Kelly for your painful loss and that you have to keep enduring and reliving the heartbreak due to our severely damaged legal system and this pitiful excuse for a human being. I pray for your own sanity and salvation that you have been able to forgive, but never forget.

I will always remember Keri and how beautiful and peaceful she looked in her prom dress at her funeral.
