This appears to be a red deer which is a non-native (European) species. There are many ranches in Texas which stock exotic game for shooters. Mr. Ramsey states on his Facebook page that he shot this deer in Texas. You may draw your own conclusions about whether this sort of hunting is ethically justified; however, whatever you think about it, it can't be equated with hunting wildlife in a natural situation.
