Re: “An internal flap over immigration escapes the doors of the powerful downtown Rotary Club

Thanks, Steven, for using the four Rotary principles - universally acceptable, I would think - to frame this report. It is evident that Mr. Krikorian's presence and his remarks were not beneficial to all, nor did they foster goodwill and friendships. And, according to Rotarians quoted in the Tennessean's report, the accuracy, the truth of what Krikorian reported as factual data, was also questionable. It seems that the Rotarians recognized that, and communicated their disagreement by their relative silence. Remember, Rotarians also communicated their overwhelming support of Renata Soto's message with a resounding standing ovation! I am one of many Tennesseans who welcome comprehensive immigration reform, and look forward to the day when our U.S. Congress will pave the way for the millions of undocumented people to come out of the shadows to live their American DREAM just as all of us are able to do. Thanks, Renata Soto! And, thanks, Rotarians for recognizing what is "beneficial to all concerned"....and what is not! Laura C

Re: “Will an arcane legal challenge bring down Nashville's controversial 287(g) program?

An amazing article......comprehensive, factual, analytical and sensible. Elliott Ozment and the Nashville Scene are shining a bright light on the darkness of the abuses committed in the name of immigration enforcement. LauraC
