Re: “'Don't Say Gay' Bill Flies Out of House Subcommittee

Why all of the hostility and name calling, here? I haven't read the legislation. I suspect many here have not either. I do know that when name calling is used, there is a suggestion that the opposite point of view has a baseless argument. If this lesilation is to prevent the use of mentioning that someone is gay , just for the sake of being gay, I have to agree with them. It should be no one's business who is gay. I am not a proponent of homsexuality being a natural way of behavior. I call it behavior, because of the historical, scientific, and biblical facts. There has been a movement since the early 1970s that suggest otherwise. I try to base my beliefs on facts and not on emotion. There must be a scientific law to prove that an individual was born this way. It can not be based just on one's opinion or feeling. I respect your opinion, but pleaes refrain from namecalling if you would like your point of view heard.

Re: “In Pissing Match with Occupiers, Rep. Eric Watson Fires Back: 'Jesus Would Not Approve'

Do any of these protestants know why they're there? They should be up in Washington, D.C. if they upset with the bailouts.

Re: “What a panel of federal judges says about Belle Meade Country Club's diversity problem also says a lot about Nashville

Judge Paine is an Honorable man from what I have learned. There is a little detail that seems to be overlooked here. In this country, we have a doctrine of FREEDOM OF ASSOCIATION!!!. The members of the Belle Meade Country Club have a right, though expensive one at that, to make by-laws to govern themselves. I am ignorant to the facts for admittance to the club. I would think that there is certain criteria to be met. I don't know if there is a skin color test written down on paper. I personally know many of the members from my line of work. I believe everyone of them are opposed to the klan. I have never seen a cross burning there nor in Belle Meade. I do know that the members have worked very hard and made great choices to get there. Not to overlook the charity in thir hearts for Nashville and the world, BUT they put a lot of people to work which provides money to support families. I see no SHAME here. I see an organization that deserves R.E.S.P.E.C.T.

Sincerely, Carl J.

Re: “The Last Stand Against HB 600

JMCOLE, I was not ignoring your concern. I will just say, if the DNA don't fit........ let's have some common sense here.

Re: “The Last Stand Against HB 600

Betsy, Please don't be so mean spirited towards my home town. I can appreciate where your coming from. I agree with you that men are good at "screwing" things up. The birth certificate states what God has made, not what man has made. If we could maintain a very small amount of sanity and tradition in this world, could we just stick with what has always worked............that is, if you are a boy when you enter this world, then you are a boy! And if you are a girl that is born as a girl, well there's your sign.

Sincerely,
Carl J.

Re: “In Which I Defend Sarah Palin a Little Bit

What is the evidence of Sarah Palin's mean spirit? The man in Arizona is responsible for the murders and attempts. He is the evil one. Come own Nashville Scene! How about a honesty about what really happened.
