@min: You're sorta right, but lead figures into the discussion: http://www.motherjones.com/environment/201…
We no longer poison our young people with lead, which impairs cognitive function, including judgement.
As other countries get rid of it, they're seeing similar drops in violent crime. Twenty years later, but still.
It's addressed to Democrats because it's an event held by the Tennessee Democratic Party. Dumbass.
Dawwwwww! This makes me so happy!
My mom up in DC religiously watches "Nashville." She called me yesterday because her husband erased the season finale, and she was worked, y'all.
She loves to visit Nashville, and loves spotting locations: When I said the 5 Spot was a real place, she was like, "Well, duh!" She knows Deacon lives in East Nashville from the style of his house.
Over the years, I've dragged her to the (old) Cannery, the Gold Rush, the Gulch, Five Points, and Prince's. Plus First Lutheran and the Cathedral of the Incarnation.
Viewers in NYC, LA, Austin, and my mom in DC will notice if they move production to another city. And they will not be happy.
I would advise our city fathers to tell the production company to piss up a rope.
The story on "the Lutheran," ELCA Presiding Bishop Mark Hanson, was from January. I was disappointed; I thought they'd done a story on Pr. Nadia Bolz-Weber. She's awesome. I think Betsy would like her.
Last week was pretty big for mainline Christianity, as the Festival of Homiletics was here.
While I've been aware of the lies told in many abstinence-only curricula, this is the first I've heard of this effect on young people, but of course she felt this way!
I just kind of rolled my eyes at all the "impurity" schtick. The horrible effects of the combination of rape and bullshit never occurred to me.
This has to stop. Shaming victims of sexual assault is unacceptable. And abstinence-only "educators" have no way to know who they are.
