Go Kate and Ashley!!!!
Go, Kate and ashley!!!
ps- THAT google search took ME .05 seconds so i guess i win.
ok, to clear this up, you are both wrong and right, sort of. she was interim provost for one year. she was associate provost for 7+ years and ran the teaching center from 97-2000. i have been told by faculty that she has not been in a classroom for over a decade. she is currently on sabbatical as far as i know. hope that clears it up. she certainly, though, did not move to admin for a year, then back. she has not been teaching for a very long time.
cmartel- i don't understand how you see belmont as standing up for anything. i have only seen them cower and deny, then ignore and deny, then deny some more. i am a liberal lesbian and i think i am in the minority on this one, but i believe a private organization should be able to discriminate (within reason, of course). it makes it easier for people to decide who to support. however, belmont has denied their discrimination over and over, while continuing to act on it, and pretending people aren't noticing it. THAT is the problem. as a lesbian, i wouldn't attend or work for a university that said "we don't want gays." but when the president says we embrace gays in our school, and when they hire people they KNOW are gay and then punish them for it, potentially ruining their lives, i don't understand how you can see that as strength.
deegeejay- if you have so much inside knowledge, why don't you tell us yourself?
