Old School Scene-ster....and type o queen.
While they did "clean up" the Gold Rush, they also cleaned out much of the essence that made it the greatest bar in Nashville. It could use a bit more warmth...too many tall tables and stools were put in during renovation. Having a few boothes in the front room would help the atmosphere greatly. It has to potential to be great once again, but as it stands I visit out of nostalgia and because it was my home away from home for many years. This bar could really be great again, I still give it a decent rating out of loyalty, but they should try to cater to their old clientele if they want to become truly successful again.
To a veteran patient your defensive sales pitch is glaringly telling Dr. Roseman.
I miss "Nashville"....it used to have so much soul. All the really cool places with tons of history are just about gone. I never once dreamed that the Great Escape would close. I feel really sad, as if I lost someone very close to me.
I remember all the fights from the 80's and 90's.....it was usually NOT Edmunds doing. People can be so cruel, but Edmund kept being himself in spite of those people. I was dating Lee when that happened at MultBobs....I was so angry about it.
We will all miss you Edmund. You were a dear friend and an Icon to so many. I have many memories to remember you by, but I wish you could have stayed around a little longer. You were loved by so many and so much more than you knew. I will see you again one day "Brother".....my love and friendship forever and always <3
