Rickrak, I agree that MSNBC is biased. I actually thought FOX would be unbiased considering their very liberal programming. But they surely haven't proven to be unbiased. Only their local channels may be more neutral. Case in point, the Washington, DC affiliate of FOX seems to be a starch contrast to the network as a whole. I can watch the local affiliate of Fox in DC because it seems to be balanced. But as soon as their national news programs come on it is the complete opposite. And, I know FOX is not the only network like that. I just wish that journalism would get back to be unbiased period. But, apparently that's not what the American people want. Americans obviously want to read or listen to news that is slanted to appeal to their viewpoints not just the simple facts. I want to make my assessment of a situation, issue, candidate, etc. around plain truth and facts. Not based on what I prefer to hear.
After reading some of these comments I now see why the City Paper had to close in Nashville. Hope everyone continues to enjoy the editorial style reporting of the Tennessean.
News has become all about entertainment and editorial perspectives. There is very little factual reporting anymore. It's all about getting viewers/readers and unfortunately our society goes where the garbage is. It remains to be seen just how personal perspectives will guide the news at AJAM. But, I can assure you that as soon as they tell the truth that people in Nashville and other places around this country DON'T want or REFUSE to hear or read, then AJAM will be categorized. Except in this case it won't be labeled conservative or liberal. It will categorized as terrorist supporting television. Anyone want to take bets?
I'm supriprised they didn't mention support of Mormon's... oh, they can't do that... their hopes of regaining control of the White House relies on a Morman.
BTW, I have nothing against Mormans. However, southern GOP members used to until Mitt came along.... So, now they put up a good front just to get Obama out of office. Oh, that's how it works.... The GOP would support a Log Cabin Republican if it meant getting Obama out of office. And, for those who don't who Log Cabin Republican are, they are the openly gay members of the GOP (albeit there are plenty of closeted ones as well). I wonder how they feel about those within their party being upset that openly gay staffers are permitted to serve in the Dept of Children Services? I'm pretty certain that we'll never know as they typically have no voice in the GOP anyway.
Is it large enough to develop an "amusement" park? Nashville seems to have given up on that idea. It certainly needs something to return the city to being a true family vacation destination.
BTW, I'm just kidding about the old fairgrounds being used as a site for an amusement park. It's not large enough for a world class amusement park without buying up 100's of acres of land around it. And, if it's in a flood zone then it would have the same issues as the old Opryland Theme Park. Maybe the Sounds should consider the area as a possible site for a new stadium or it could be used to build the amphitheater the mayor is suggesting. When there are no concerts open it as a city park.
