TOUCHE my friend. Touche.
When it comes to bringing out the troll bait on the Nashville Cream, Jack White posts are the new Kings Of Leon posts. I can't wait until it's cool to hate The Black Keys.
"So much rock 'n' roll, in fact, that I was badgering their publicist about tour dates before the album hit the halfway mark, and by the time Beard was over, I had already set the gears in motion for their in-store appearance at Grimey's."
Thanks for doing that. I've wanted a Tame Impala show here since Innerspeaker grabbed me a couple of years ago. I know this isn't Tame Impala, but it is so obvious that they share members. This Pond album is amazing. Gonna take off work early to come to this.

The difference between this show and Daryl Hall's show with Chromeo at Bonnaroo a couple of years back is night and day. That show featured the youth getting down and roaring for these same songs (they particularly seemed to love You Make My Dreams Come True.) This show featured a bunch of wine sippers reliving glory days from the comfort of their flat asses, and from where I was, complaining about the lack of space in the pews.
At least the crowd was standing for the encore on the floor. The oldies in the balcony couldn't quite figure it out. They stood to clap at the start of the encore, then sat back down (YOU CAN'T EVEN STAND FOR THE ENCORE?) and then promptly stood back up once they realized it was another hit.
At any rate, beyond the bike racks being packed with walkers (I kid of course), the musicianship on display and that catalog of hits made this show so worth it. When the sax comes in on Maneater...man. I also like that there was no opener. Getting home from a show before the local news is pretty strange.
Overheard on the way down the stairs from the balcony: Guy: "I'm going backstage to blow Oates." Gal: "I'm sure that's on his list."
Seriously, the Vandy stereotype is perpetuated with that poster. AND, it's a blog post! This isn't the New York Times or even the Nashville Scene. It's the Cream. A blog. Do you get all butt hurt over every blog post you read on the internetz? MORE ZZZZZZZZ! Anybody else here go to that stellar Modest Mouse/Gavin DeGraw show at Memorial? These pairings don't usually work out. There's a big damned difference between Erykah Badu and Trey Songz.
Re: “Breaking News: Soundland Postponed Until 2013”
Nice touch for the brand calling it "on hold" as opposed to what it really is, cancelled.
