stuck in the metal again...
Does anyone know an animal name or reference that has'nt been used as a band name? I mean WTF? Is there something that all of these groups are missing? Like originality?
I don't know how healthy you would think it is, but if you can at least have a little chicken, or any other meat in your diet, Visit Los Potrillo's Taqueria on the corner of Foster av. and Lutie st. in Woodbine. They have the BEST tacos (traditional) and about any other short order Mexican lunch dish you can find. You can dine in, and not have to loiter in a parking lot and then try to eat in your car. Lunch runs about $6-10 and up, and a few of these tacos without beans or rice will fill you without having to get the "Meat and 3 Bloat." I highly recommend the Pollo tacos which are simple:(Stewed w/tomato and secret spices)then grilled Chicken, fresh Cilantro, and white onion, served w/lime. Add the House Salsa Verde, and Voila, a filling lunch with enough spice to keep you awake after lunch, but won't burn you out on the way back to the office. Lunch for 2 under $15.00! And they have the cleanest Restroom that you will find that close to Nolensville Rd. And No I don't work there, But i am a dedicated Customer!
This was a really great show in my opinion. The crowd definitely made these guys feel welcome. They(crowd) made up for a lack of bodies by really enjoying themselves and loudly cheering the acts on, like a real crowd should do. Sad to see so many shows with a lack of enthusiasm from the crowds these days. Take a lesson from the Hip-Hop/ Metal crowds Indie fans...
I KNOW THAT'S RIGHT...
I bought a chair in Detroit 2 years ago, and found a 7" vinyl 45 wrapped in brown paper stuffed inside of it! To my surprise it had a recording made by none other than Jack White, along with a Band I had never heard of called "Chicken Ship". This is the best cover version Of "The Trees" by Rush, on side A and b/w a cover of "Islands in the Stream" Duet with P.J. Harvey! Is this worth any money? It says it was recorded @ 'The Outhouse' in Detroit in 1993...
Chris Crofton is the man! I just got to eat Grilled Cheese Sandwiches w/ him and Rod Stewart at the Tomato Art Festival! Apparently Newt was a co-writer/inspiration for "Hot Legs"! Also John Rich has invited us over later for Cocaine and cream cheese! What a weekend I'm having! We're having an MGMT poster burning party later...with the Mayor's cousin on Love Circle.
