Went today. At $12 it was a steal. The Meatloaf was fantastic.
While I love the aforementioned options further up I65N, you can't deny that those places are rather formulaic. Craft cocktail bar clones can be found everywhere these days. With their focus on brandy, Gray's is really doing something different with their drink program. I'm not crazy about Franklin either but the drinks alone are worth the drive every once in a while.
Not to take this thread off course but I had that Au Cheval Burger recently as well and transcendent is an understatement.
I'm not really sure I understand the basis of this statement:
"The Tippler is also the first bar in town to serve draft cocktails, which are supposedly better-tasting in many cases than ones mixed to order".
Care to elaborate on why draft cocktails are better than mixed to order?
Fair warning, it's a biased question, I would argue that they aren't better but am curious if there is a reasoning I am missing.
I've been to Nicholson's Pub in Cincinnati and it is great. High hopes for this place.
In order: City House, Rolf and Daughters, Catbird Seat, Etch, Silo.
Still have not been to Husk in Nashville but I would put all my experiences at City House over the one in Charleston. Good to see so much love for City House here, looks to be the unanimous favorite.
