The line about Mark Ruffalo is similar to the following, from Edmund White's review of "Beat Memories: The Photographs of Allen Ginsberg": "Not so many years ago I remember asking a straight friend why he had had sex with Ginsberg and he said, opening his hands palm-up as if it were self-evident, 'Dude, he was Allen Ginsberg.' "

Slippery slope, don't ya know? If he starts accepting same-sex marriage, next thing you know he might want to keep creationism out of the schools, and then where would we be? On the road to hell; that's where!

It's much better for the environment to take the bus or a bicycle downtown than to drive a hybrid car. As Matt Ruscigno puts it, "To a cyclist, a Prius is just a small hummer."
