Re: “To the Cornerstone Church Congregants Who May Be Raiding Scene Boxes: You missed a few!

The article in the Nashville scene did not ruin Pastor Maurys Ministry - no matter how hard the Scene tried. You can't take down a man that God has his hand on, because you can't take down God. To the "other Scott" it wasn't Christians that exposed you to the article - it was the Nashville Scene that wrote it! So maybe you should step into church and be exposed to Christ and stop blaming Christians on worldly influences – that is the last thing we want to do. Alex - in case you don't know history - Jesus was a REAL man that walked on earth, whether you believe he came from God or not. Not a fictional creature.
Yes, Pastor Maury did commit murder – he has never kept it a secret –no matter how much he has wanted to erase his past. He did try to mend things with the family, and understandably they have found it hard to forgive. Since then, he has moved on to accomplish great things for the Lord. If we had to live in our past sins (lying, slander, greed, adultery, murder - whatever it may be) ALL of us would be tormented every day. Let the man move on. More importantly let the family of the murder victim move on! By writing these articles you are only bringing up terrible memories for them. I bet you would find it hard to go to their house and tell the gruesome story to their face. But because of your article, they still have to hear about it on the news and through your news magazine. Don’t act like you take pity on them because you don’t. If you did you would leave it alone.
