The AIDS thing was dumb, I'm all for public (and charitable rich people's) $ going to the Arts.
But seems like there were a hell of a lot of people doing more for the preservation of these, more or less historically significant, recordings before the RIAA stepped in and shut down megaupload and literally thousands of music blogs because $.
idk, let JW tell the Library of Congress what should go in it, that's A+ fine, but let's not act like JW putting up some $ so he, and T Bone and whoever other industry suits can sit on a board and tell the LoC what should go in it is... idk, special?

Don't recordings last forever now because of... Internet? Who gives a shit if the US government has a bunch of dusty old 78s? Why not aids research, etc
