Just to add another voice to the many, budgets are being cut, arts and physical activity are being taken out of the schools and two paycheck homes and two parent homes are fast declining.
This camp reinforced what as parents, we try to encourage all year round (self expression, creativity, and new "safe" experiences), allowed for my son and daughter to have the guitar lessons that we otherwise could not have afforded for them, and exposed them to all facets of the music business as well as embracing the diversity of music. During the this awesome week, my daughter, Shon, learned amazing things on the Guitar with the Playground Detectives. My, son Jay,had been trying to teach himself how to play guitar for six months on his own before learning of the camp. He has been just blown away by the talent of all of the participants and the volunteers, especially the guitar instructor and was Confident to Rock the house with the Answer Key.
YEAH....it is time for a Nashville Chapter:)
