Re: “How will my kids ever learn about late fees and rental protection?

Growing up in Springfield we had Mr. Tolley's Video Store and the switch to dvd did him in. But I remember going on Friday night with my dad and picking our movie for the weekend. They knew us by name and when I got older we were able to walk to the video store and that was even cooler. They would even save big movie posters for me to hang in my room... I was a total nerd.
I was so sad when I came home from college a few years ago and they had officially closed.
But I think things just change... there will always be something to fill in the social void. It won't look and feel the same to us... but it will be similar to Bruiser and Punky... hopefully.

Re: “Nearly every year during the holidays, someone in our house makes the mistake of buying a Family Game

I am way more competitive than I should be and game time never ends well for me. I have thrown a pack of cards. I have hidden needed pieces... I love to win. However, funnily enough, a group of my friends and I played book lovers trivia one night after severe drinking had commenced, and while normally I would have lost, I dominiated. Apparently drinking leads to intelligence for me. who knew?

Re: “I've lost my cool, and that's OK

I always thought I would be the cool aunt, because I don't really know if I will/can ever have children. Until a friend told me that she thought she would be the cool aunt until she had kids and didn't want the retribution to her off spring.
I was the middle girl to a decidedly unhip dad, but he did an amazing job and I appreciate him even more now for that.
