Re: “A dispute goes public over an actor dismissed from a local production of Rent

Well, this was almost as big a waste of 3 minutes of good reading time as that alleged article a few months ago about an indie "film" here in Nashville about young guys dressed up like old guys and having relationships with garbage cans.

Re: “Tennessee Is Not Wisconsin? Union Protesters Arrested at Capitol

Here's a novel concept, Jim: Why not just let Woods post directly to Pith, instead of your channeling him.
Pith hasn't been the same since Woods was posting here regularly.
I wonder what happened? Did he offend one person too many? Or some particular someone? Hmmm?

Re: “Irreconcilable Differences Between McWherter and Tennessee Progressives

With friends like the "progressives," Tennessee Democrats don't need enemies.

When you guys find the mythical liberal Democrat who is 100 percent pure on all your issues AND can win a statewide election in Tennessee, please do let me know. In the meantime, if that's the kind of Democrat that it takes to win your votes, prepare yourselves for a very long Republican reign.

Re: “Haslam Morphs into Gun Control Freak

"I don't get your title to the article. It looks like you are just wanting to do like the press has done all along with this issue -- try to sell more newspapers or more magazines!"

Uh, you do realize don't you that Pith is neither a newspaper nor a magazine and isn't sold at all. In fact, if you paid to get on this website, I'd like to talk with you about some land I've got in south central Florida.

Re: “'Spineless' Haslam Takes Grief from Newspapers

Yeah, but the TV report on the Firearms Association meeting where he spoke showed several of the members open-carrying their sidearms, along with massive bellies overhanging their belts. If the reporters started visibly packing heat, he might -- might! -- actually answer their questions in a straightforward way too.

Re: “'I've Got Haslam Right Where I Want Him,' McWherter Declares

"One of us 105 didn't run anywhere. We were there from the beginning, right after Kyle dropped out. Sometimes Woody, people just go where they see the best candidate."

Or where they see the winning candidate and who are in hack/flack jobs that stand to benefit nicely from being on the winning side.
But do tell, One: are you one of the 100 unknowns on the list or one of the 5 who anybody had ever heard of before.

Re: “'I've Got Haslam Right Where I Want Him,' McWherter Declares

"That's why I'm voting for Green Party gubernatorial candidate Howard Switzer. Sure, he has even less of a chance of winning than McWherter, but at least my conscience will be clean. And gee, if enough people leave McWherter's camp for Howard, we might just give this state a badly-needed shakeup. A guy can hope, can't he?"

That mentality is why we got W in 2000 rather than Gore. The Greenies and purists voted for Nader in a few key states, ie. Florida. It won't matter in this governor's race but go ahead and deliver your message. Let the GOP's victory margin go out the roof and embolden then even more than they already are. You guys ain't seen nothing like this next 10 years of Republican rule of the state legislature.
