The desire for vengeance in those so wronged by the perpetrators of such heinous crimes that merit the death penalty in this state is valid. I have no doubt that I would
personally want vengeance if someone murdered my wife or a child of mine. that said, our justice system exists in order to preclude a system in which people would seek private vengeance for crimes against themselves or loved ones. I have mixed feelings about the death penalty; in theory, I can see the argument that some crimes are so foul and egregious that society demands the ultimate price be paid. In reality, with the vagaries of human-applied justice, the inevitable mistakes and biases in that real world system (I find it ironic that those who so denigrate government's ability to do ANYTHING right are so eager to prod that same government to carry out the ultimate penalty) and the fact that innocent people have been shown to have been wrongly sentenced to death and that innocent people HAVE BEEN EXECUTED, I can't support the death penalty…..life with no possibility of parole seems a reasonable alternative. There is a dual system of justice in this country, based on class, power, wealth, poverty, and we all know it. And Ron Ramsey knows it, too. He just doesn't give a shit.
and moost/gast/xray can't tell when people are making fun of marketing majors who think they are economics experts.
Zoombah, anything to say about the merits of the actual federal project at issue? pro or con? Anything?
What kind of Italian joint is owned by a guy named Lars?
Climer hasn't expressed an original thought in print since about 1979. And his theory in regards to why Vandy lost this game is silly. The "distraction" of the rape charges didn't have anything to do with the loss.
by the way, why didn't Martin have the right to stand his ground? Zimmerman was a loser wannabe rent a cop flunky who started a fight then couldn't take his a$$ whipping like a man so he used a gun instead. He was and is a coward.
