Re: “Aurora Snorealis: Vandy Doc Ruins Nashville Dork Community's Day

oh well, can still find excuse to drive to middle of nowhere in the middle of the night with cheese curls and caffeine infused soda---there's always meteor showers this time of year. I know, not exactly northern lights, but still good dork fun.

Re: “Wither the Fairgrounds?

Browns Creek Media Village would be part of creating those good incentives. Attracting film projects isn't all about just throwing money around--part of it is having sound stages, experienced workforce and other resources available that allow a production company to do more of the filmmaking process here instead of having to head somewhere else for certain things. That has been one of the major hurdles to getting more film projects to come here as opposed to Austin or Louisiana or wherever, where they have such resources.

Re: “Wither the Fairgrounds?

if Browns Creek Media Village is a realistic proposal, and if the neighborhood approves of it (I'm sure gentrification would be a concern), it would be a fantastic (big-thinking) idea. One question I have is, would they put 10 foot fences around the perimeter, including the greenway, or would they really incorporate it into the existing neighborhood so that it is an actual benefit to and not a fortress from the area?

The racetrack needs to go away; the neighborhood is against it and has put up with enough noise over the years. Yes, everyone surely wants a healthy State Fair. While it may have been a State Fair there at the Fairgrounds, it certainly wasn't a healthy one (anymore). And I question whether it was really healthy for the neighborhood anymore either.
