Littlejohn's parents didn't really understand "time out."
I was at both Rac Ryman shows. The first time in the balcony, and I was quite disappointed in the sound that night. The band sounded muffled, and I also wondered if gretcschbaby's point about big rocks acts was the case.
Fast forward to last Thursday. We were on the floor near the stage and holy toledo, the band sounded great from that location. Majestic and very, very dense. Fat and big and bombastic.
We are generally the folks standing right in front of the board, figuring the mix isn't gonna get any better than there, but we will try floor seats near the stage again, for sure.
And for the record, I thought the Racs were simply transcendent. They seemed tight and well rehearsed and all were having fun. The horns? Hello. Fantastic. Great songs played with urgency. Definitely one for the books, IMHO.
Mr Gold, I hope you had as much fun writing this as I had reading it. Thanks! One for the books!
How about voting for "WRVU, before June 2011" for best radio station?
I'd give a quarter to know who lone wolf shouty guy was.
I was holding out for Jack White coming to 91.1's rescue. Damn.

Thanks for the Thunder 94 shout out!
