Re: “A Man in Full: Jim Leeson, 1930-2010

Memories of Jim (et al) harken way back to the '60's....we seldom missed a week of having lunch at Mack's (the 99cent blue plate special) or on payday @ Ireland's for the ham/biscuit/fries special. And frequently, excursions to his homestead, where both young daughters vividly recall sneaking a cookie from the highly monitored cookie jar in the living room.

Along with other long time friends, we enjoyed gossiping and drinking at Jim's kitchen table on the Saturday before he departed, and later in the evening, at a festive dinner party at the Burton's.

I look forward to being part of the gathering at Jim's on Thursday.

Re: “A Man in Full: Jim Leeson, 1930-2010

My years with Jim (and John Egerton, et al) harken back to the l960's. We seldom missed a week of meeting for lunch at Mack's (the blue plate 99cent special), and on payday, @ Ireland's for the infamous biscuits/hams/fries. And often there were excursions to Jim's wonderland in the country, where both of my daughters (now adults) recall the treats (and stern reprimands) associated with invading the cookie jar sans permission from Jim.

We shared and enjoyed excursions abroad...London, where Jim introduced me to a special drink in the House of Parliament. We stayed in contact, less often than we should have. And I relished the time to visit with Jim two days before he departed...gossiping and drinking at his kitchen table, and then later at a celebratory dinner @ the Burtons.

I will be there Thursday.
