My nightmare was back when I was pretty new to cooking. I was in High School, and was going through a major sugar cookie phase. I decided to make them on a Saturday. I got a cookbook, threw all my ingredients into the bowl AND THEN I read where you had to wrap them and let them sit in the fridge for a considerable amount of time. I thought to myself - nah, they don't need that! I proceeded to dollop them on a cookie sheet like regular chocolate chip cookies. They baked and came out like pucks. God bless my sweet parents for eating them and faking how great they were.
I'm gonna be selfish and say the closed-down Mrs. Winner's on Lebanon Pk in Donelson.. We need more local, good eats!
We tried Sicilian after a late-night out. It was pretty amazing, but we wonder if the previous beverages consumed helped out the tasty-factor. We ordered it again, but at a more reasonable dinner hour and it was still pretty great. They deliver, and are open until the very wee hours of morning.
The Mrs. Winner's closed a while ago, before Thanksgiving. We were sad to see it go, but would definitely love to see something local go in there.
Nope.. No charge for sauces. Just ask for what you want at the register when you order. In lieu of the saucebar, they added another soda fountain. Very helpful at the lunchtime rush..
DMC - The sauce bar is no more at the Cool Springs McDougals, you have to ask for it at the counter now. The ice cream machine is still up and running, though, so that's a plus.
Jamaicaway has this on their page - Committed to an August 1 open date..
If you go to Shipley's go early.. They sell out pretty quickly.. At least the one in Donelson does.
