Re: “The Wild Cow Review: A Response From Owner Melanie Cochran”
Having recently moved here from Los Angeles, a raw food vegan and Nutritional Coach, I was THRILLED to find The Wild Cow. What most people don't know, is that there is more useable protein in a plant based diet...once meat is cooked, it is chemically altered (thus unrecognizable in the body) and takes up to 72 hours to digest while it is putrifying. Imagine a piece of meat sitting on a sidewalk in 98.6 degree weather for 3 days...well, that's what is going on in your body. Please read The China Study by T. Colin Campbell, PhD and educate yourselves!! We are a society of dis-ease and it's getting worse...the incidence of childhood and adult obesity (particularly in Nashville) is startling. I am so happy that almost everyone I meet here is open to change or has already taken steps to change. I am also grateful to the restaurants that have been so willing to accommodate my diet here in Nashville. My health has never been better than when I completely gave up all forms of animal protein. EVERY time I go to The Wild Cow, it is packed lately...I couldn't be happier for them and for the community...
