The Tennessean couldn't make the connection with who the guy was before national sources did, and then didn't bother to update the story until the next day? That's slow, strange, & lame to me - and that's the point. I'm not suggesting they didn't want the info to get out. It just struck me - wow, how famous does someone have to be for our local paper to figure out who the hell he is? It's rock news - tragic, bad, rock news, that happened here - but to the Tennessean, I guess he was just some dude. So, duh, Tennessean. Glad they were at least able to figure out who Reese Witherspoon before posting the story of her boozy brush with the law.

Hey, author Adam Gold: I'll put this here instead of in an email, and maybe you'll see it. No, I don't have something to bitch about. I noticed something weird about the coverage of this story by our favorite local newspaper. I saw the story of the DUI accident and the mugshot on the Tennessean's website. A short while later, while web surfing, I saw the same mugshot and story on TMZ, only it identified Harrell as the bassist of 3 Doors Down, which the Tennessean did not. I looked back at the Tennessean later that day, and it still didn't mention Harrell was a member of the band. So TMZ was apparently able to figure out Harrell's status in the band well before our hometown newspaper for a story that happened in Mt Juliet. Weird, huh?
