Yes the buzz is all about St Germaine and i like it with champagne, pellegrino & a lime ; however, the long time favorite at our house is the Moscow Mule:
2 oz vodka
fresh lime juice
Ginger Beer (NOT Ginger Ale mind you)
and a sprinkle of bitters
all over ice with a lime wedge garnish.
Very refreshing!
also can substitute vanilla vodka which is quite tasty as well.
A few highs and lows to report. Low point last Friday night tried out Lucky Bamboo. Abysmal service with equally abysmal food. Peking Duck chopped not shredded and served with tortillas, yep, tortillas. The dinner went from bad to worse as our main dishes sat on the table and the rice came 15 minutes later. Lunch at Porta Via Saturday with my parents and my 3 kids - a definite high. Excellent service, kid friendly (to my 8 yr olds delight the waiter offered they do have pepperonis they are just not on the menu), reasonable prices, delicious food. Gelato was high point. We tried several flavors - loved the mango and the vanilla was creamy heaven. Dinner at City House, walked in without a reservation at 8 and seated within 15 minutes. We have been several times but this is the first time I have had the chopped salad. Raw broccoli, carrots, cauliflower in a gorgonzola vinaigrette with peanuts. Incredible texture and taste. Lots of Italian wine gems on the list not found anywhere else in Nashville and excellent service as always.
Planning on trying dinner at Porta Via tonight!
