A meat & three for under $5? Maybe if their prices were more realistic they could afford the rent.
@BP: absolutely, your choice on the table. I get it with onions and jalapenos.
You're in luck. Two of the best breakfasts in town are in the vicinity. Check out Bar-b-cutie's home cooked breakfast. It's the neighborhood hot spot. Get a barbecue or grilled chicken omelette with your favorite adds. They have great sandwiches, biscuits & gravy, all the normal things. They open at 7AM, 7 days a week. Also try Fogatas in the Lowe's shopping center. They open at 8 for breakfast with all kinds of good stuff including huevos ala mexicano with home made corn tortillas. It's a great breakfast on week-ends.
What do I know about barbecue? Not much apparently. Been there 3 times; struck out.
I've eaten there several times and loved it. Was planning on taking an out of towner there this week-end. Maybe some items aren't made fresh every day and some menu items aren't available daily, but the food is always excellent.
Los Rosales....now that was some great frickin' food. Carlos tried another restaurant in the same space later, but it also failed. Now someone is taking that space + the vacated Rudino's space next door and turning it into a sports bar called Thirsty Turtle.
Re: “Dining for Only the Lonely: How to Eat Out Alone”
I eat out quite often solitary and don't give it a second thought. I especially enjoy watching the couples who look bored and never talk to each other while dining. One does not have to be by himself to be eating alone.
