Re: “Newsy Bits at Weekly Open Thread

There is remodeling being done on the space next to pizza perfect on 21st. Any word on what is going to open there?

Re: “Weekly Open Thread Wants a Do-Over

Local Taco (Brentwood). After reading about the positive experience a few weeks ago on Bites, we finally went last night. It was ok, nothing special, didn't like the tater tots thingies, too bland. We left, underwhelmed and wishing we went somewhere else.

Re: “What Makes A Restaurant Family-Friendly?

We have been taking our son out since he was a newborn. We are lucky, he behaves well in restaurants and most of the time is an adventurous eater, and he has some favorites at our regular spots. He is now 4 1/2, we often bring our own crayons and coloring or activity books to engage him until the food arrives. Our rotation includes; Miss Saigon, Korea House, Lucky Bamboo (dim sum and dinner), Porta Via, Athens, B & C market melrose, Tenno, Dalts. Of course, pizza perfect is a fine option.

The Turnip Truck in the gulch with their hot tables is a new favorite. We took him to City House to celebrate my birthday and he had a great time and loved his food.

been wanting to try it since first reported, I just can't get away at lunchtime. If they had evening hours they would get my family as customers
