Next election season, we should organize a write-in vote for Jon Bon Jovi or some other way to waste our votes that's similar to what you guys did here.
A lot of intellectually talented people with great grades would say no. Does anybody remember the John Jenkins essay from a few years ago?
This isn't a knock on Vanderbilt; it's a knock on the system that puts kids into impossible (and unhelpful) situations because they can throw a ball really far.
I don't have a dog in this fight, but I'll say this: John Ray Clemmons came to my house politicking on Saturday, June 30, and it was pouring rain and he didn't have an umbrella and was soaked. I don't know his stance on the issues, but I question anybody who goes door to door in the rain without an umbrella.
Metro/Davidson County has searchable criminal records, FYI:
I see he's scheduled for Court this Friday at 9am on the charges from November 2012.
Have fun and search everybody you know. I have.
I've looked all over the Circuit Court and General Sessions Court website and I can't find the phone numbers to call a Judge at 9am on a Sunday morning. Oh gee, I wonder how the attorney got the Judge's *personal* number and, second question, is that how our legal system works? One side calls up the Judge at home and argues his case? YIKES.
If we're going to nit-pick good press, I'll throw my hat into the ring and object to their suggestion that a 30 minute nap is enough. I can't really get a good rest in 30 minutes, and then my hair is sort of messed up and getting into and out of my pajamas takes up at least 7 minutes.
I read all that and all I can remember is my disdain for way people are using the word "humbled" nowadays to mean honored or impressed. When did this start and why?
