I don't care if there is an issue between Ms. Patterson and Chairman Herron - there should be a woman on the exit committee. If not Ms Patterson, someone else.
Andy Holt is my representative - he only cares about lining his pockets. That's it.
This is the same mentality as the Steven Fincher's "drug test people on unemployment and welfare" same exact strategy - demonize the poor. The real question is why does it continue to work? People are so willing to believe that if you are poor - it's got to be your own fault - you must be lazy or on drugs because there's just no way that it was beyond your control. They are delusional - they don't want to believe that it could happen to them so they continuously (and successfully) convince the public that the poor are villainous moochers.
The truth is, if they truly wanted to engage parents - they'd pass a living wage. They'd bring diversified industry to TN without offending them with hate speech. They'd opt into Medicaid expansion so the poor have access to health care. They'd stop trying to outright destroy unions and the rights of the people. They don't care about parental involvement - they care about themselves and making headlines.
"...We cannot have situation in this state where there’s an institution that’s a bully that gets away with whatever it wants to get away with.”
Unless of course that institution is controlled by Republicans; if that's the case, forget what I said.
John Tanner agreed to resign so Roy Herron could run for his seat so Roy and Mike McWherter wouldn't have to hash it out in the primary. EVERYBODY here in the 8th district knows it, the TNDP let it happen, Roy Herron is complicit to it and John Tanner will forever be remembered as a coward. It was a political calculation by a bunch of good ol' boys who are out of touch with their district, their state and reality.
I've never voted for a Republican and I'd rather deal with the nut-case from Frog Jump for 2 years than one more Good Ol' Boy FAKE Democrat like Roy Herron. My 2010 Campaign Motto is NO DOGS ALLOWED.
