Ms. Barry seems to have pivoted her campaign to stress her liberal views on subjects that have nothing to do with qualifications to be Nashville's chief executive in order to lure certain segments of voters.

Is there some sort of requirement that the next super must come from this group of recruits submitted by the search firm that couldn't find shortcoming with both hands? Many voices asked the process be started over and the pool of candidates be expanded. Is anyone listening?
From a financial perspective it seems to me that if an acceptable site can be found the jail should move. This would allow the sale of the current property which might cover most if not all the cost of the new facility rather than pouring over $100 million into rehabbing the current jail.
