competion bbq cook who runs the ulika food blog
bbq, food blogger, memphis bbq, nashville bbq, nashville pizza
pork is my jam
best coffee in town hands down. I drive downtown from south nashville for just for their macchiatos and selection of drew's brews
my favorite cheese is hands down Rogue River Blue
my best meal was at Cork and Cow. I walked out of there extremely happy.
out of town, we had an incredible meal at The Macintosh in Charleston and Franny's in Brooklyn
I've never been but plan to go to the Music & Molasses Festival at the Ellington Agricultural Center on Oct. 19 & 20. The Muddy Pond Sorghum folks will be there crushing out some of their awesome sorghum.
where do you like burgers from in town?
The burger is bomb.
- eaten there for lunch 4 times and the burger was perfect every time
1. BGE for backyard grilling
2. favorite food to grill is a 2 inch Bear Creek pork chop. mostly just brine and dry rub
3. pot pie and meatloaf on the BGE is fantastic
4. no smoker box, but like Westendrail, I replaced my grill grates on my gasser and put in a griddle
5. BGE is worth the investment. Just look on craigslist and they pop up from time to time. life time warranty on them as well
Also my standard grilling tip is to get the best meat thermometer that you can afford (thermapen). People generally over cook their proteins, and you will notice a big difference when you pull that pork chop off right at 145 degrees.
good luck on your new adventure Sean. I too love the wonderfulness that is Nolensville Rd.
I've eaten at many of the taco trucks on Nolensville Rd and I recently discovered a new one that I have been enjoying immensely. It is at the Marathon gas station on Old Hickory Blvd just east of Nolensville Rd. They have great lengua tacos, and they offer breakfast items!
