Hurricane Doyle, Larry Mell Morgan
"this is such an awesome way to intentionally get attention. i'll be going viral in 3...2...1..."
i also don't hear the difference between the actual singer and the dude in the crowd he made sing into the mic. one more thing, how internet famous could that dude have been if he had busted his arse off of that kick drum? i thought it was coming...then, no. disappointment.
now if you'll excuse me, i have guns to clean, jeans to cut off, and mt. dew to drink. J-ville out.
don't forget skynyrd and .38 special and (ahem) limp bizkit. we jacksonvillians humbly know our place on the music pantheon. my only hope is to haul hurricane doyle up that mountain of...red.
jacksonville, florida does. ha!
that flag is just a small part of the weird guilt/shame/pride thing we southerners just have to drag around because of our forefathers. you can say all the 'heritage not hate' stuff you want, but when you sport that banner, you are alienating, angering, and even hurting a large segment of your fellow southerners and human beings. if you're ok with that, then so be it. i'm proud of being southern, and proud (read: semi-pissed) that so many non-southerners want to replicate our accent and sound and culture in their art. our guilt and noir and 'southern goth' are a big reason for that. i'm far too concerned with being part of a continued healing process that will take far longer than my short life to fly that flag, though.
@mercedi - the 5 spot is mentioned in the 'venues' section.
@jenn - don't blame these guys on the scan. i did it on my roommate's computer, and i'm kind of a computer idiot. i don't even know what 'de-screen' is. thank god i'm good looking.
